Sandy Tweddle

Sandy Tweddle has been brightening the world of ceilidh and traditional fiddle for more than three decades, building up a wealth of experience as well a legion of happy feet and hearts. He began playing mostly classical during his childhood but quickly progressed to traditional fiddle as a student in Aberdeen. He has performed with numerous bands and ensembles over the years in venues across the northeast of Scotland and further afield. He also teaches at Scottish Culture and Traditions, an Aberdeen based adult learning medium.

Senga MacDonald

Senga was a founder member of Hogtie Ceilidh band and has been the pianist and dance caller during that time.  She currently plays piano with Ceilidh Fling, having handed over the calling to Gus.  Coming from a classical background she didn't pursue her family influences in traditional Scottish music until later in life. She had a strong family singing tradition, and her dad, who had been a Drum Major in the RAF took her to the Cowel Highland Gathering every year as a child.  She followed a career in Social Work and now works as a free lance Practice Teacher and supports a number of charities.  However, most of her free time is spent pursuing her interest and passion for traditional music and playing the fiddle.

Fiona main

Classically trained on violin, piano and recorder and with great sight-reading abilities, Fiona is a highly accomplished drummer whose rock-steady beat provides the rhythmical backbone of the band. She has a sound understanding of the characteristics of traditional Scottish music and has also learned the mandolin in recent years.

Gus macdonald

Gus has played with many bands since the year 2000 and was an original member of Hogtie. Gus plays guitar, bodhran and dance calls. Gus is a member of SC&T (the Scottish Culture and Traditions group) where he has learned to play most of his instruments. He is currently enjoying learning to play the mandolin. Gus was also a member of Rappoch who had much success at the National Mod in the 2006 and 2007. Gus's other passion is football and golf!
Gus plays guitar and dance calls for Ceilidh Fling.
